🥖 A Little Local Bite: Grover Beach Sourdough

I was almost afraid to tell my husband I had gone without him. But after that meal, I couldn't keep my mouth shut. It was simply too good, and seeing my friends Brooke and Jacob back in action made the experience even sweeter.
Today I returned with two friends, which meant we could order more and share. Now that is my kind of dining strategy. Here's what hit the table:
A liter of fresh, crisp lemonade
Savory, cheesy bread pudding
A scratch-made hot bologna sandwich
An organic chicken melt: chopped chicken salad with celery and red onion on homemade sourdough, with melted cheddar and fresh tomato
Seasonal squash soup with a swirl of olive oil and, naturally, a side of sourdough

As I sat there, I looked across the street at The Spoon Trade building and felt a little sad knowing my old "happy place" will eventually be gone. But then I looked around. The wonderful food was back. Brooke and Jacob were back. That feeling of warmth and community was back. And, most importantly, that rocket-fire explosion of flavor was back.
So I'm putting my sadness aside and focusing on my new happy place: Grover Beach Sourdough.
Brooke and Jacob, thank you for feeding us, welcoming us and continuing to create food with heart. Thank you for being such an important part of our community. And selfishly, thank you for giving this New Orleans foodie a place where she can once again sit down, take a bite and say…
Oh dear Lawd, that is GOOD!
