Shell Beach has a brand-new restaurant you won’t want to miss. The Cape Cod Eatery located at 1127 Shell Beach Road opened recently and it’s definitely one of the new hot spots everyone is flocking to.
The Cape Cod Eatery & Taphouse gets its name from the building it resides, previously “The Cape Cod Motel” which was built back in 1953. The owners of the restaurant did an amazing job of keeping with the historic features of the building during its renovation. They even collected pilings from the old Pismo Pier which adds to the esthetics and feeling of the place.
Last week brought me to this great spot for a business meeting which made for an excellent and relaxed setting. There is some indoor seating, but the majority of the seating is outdoors. The patios have several seating options, including Adirondack chairs around firepits, raised stool seats to sit at raised bars, or regular tables and chairs.
The menu has a variety of east coast faire that includes Manhattan clam chowder, lobster rolls, gourmet hot dogs, fried chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken salad, grilled oysters, and po-boys. If you bring the kids, you’re in luck, they have a menu for your little ones too!
I enjoyed a shrimp & clam po-boy on my visit with a side of fries and coleslaw. It was delicious! The bread on my sandwich was amazing with the shrimp & clams fried to perfection. On the side, my coleslaw was flavorful, and the fries were sprinkled with the perfect amount of seasoning.
They don’t call it a taphouse for no reason! The Cape Cod Eatery and Taphouse has a large selection of beers on tap to choose from. The beer menu boasts over 30 beers from all over.
